London Expresses Resiliency After Terrorist Attack



On Wednesday, an attack near the British Parliament left five people dead and the rest of a nation in mourning.
By Thursday, officials with the Transport for London were doing their part to invoke a spirit of healing, togetherness and strength. Emblazoned across normally boring whiteboards used for announcements were beautiful words to greet locals and tourists alike.

As noted, the above images were captured at the following stations: Tower Hill, Tooting Bec, Oval, Ealing Common, and Tottenham Court Road. One quote reads: “The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of them all.” Another offers, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming suffering.”
The hashtag #WeAreNotAfraid quickly spread across London and throughout the world.
The Sun reports the following image, although posted widely, was a fake. But, as it notes: “While the message on the service information board was generated by a computer, people have argued that the sentiment rings true.”
